Default Problems in clock (JS) at Geocities

Sorry for this English message.
I have a problem in the home page I create for my daughter
and as I am a newbie in this matters I hope there someone out there that can help me.
The problem is:
In the index page (http://geocities.com/gregmellow/ ) I tried to put a java script ( that creates a clock/date)
following the mouse pointer.
this script is usual at many places like: www.solinas.com/clock.html
but in other place at geocities ( http://www.geocities.com/stimulatio...clockmouse.html)
The "clock" stays, not
expanded, at the window upper left corner.

The question is I have inserted the java in wrong place or it's not possible to use it at geocities.

Thanks

Default hmmm

I checked the site you mentioned, and can't see any clock whatsoever..

I'm guessing that the problem might also be related with the web browser,
I've also found several examples of, mouse following javascript, clocks at this site: Mouse Clock, however, only one seems to work (numb. 3) with my browser (Safari).

You should experiment with the code available at the site I mentioned, maybe it'll solve your problem.

Thanks guys

The type of clock that wasn’t working in my page is one similar to the one found by LiG

I solve the problem by myself by creating a index.htm that redirects to e.g. a index.txt and the coding is all done in that txt file and NOW, it’s working.

So I presume that is some coding that geocities add to the htm or html files that keeps the script to don’t run.

Thanks anyway guys

I think this thread is important for people that do pages in geocites to be aware of tricky shit.

Keep on helping ‘cos that a good job …………..

As soon as I read Paulo's post, I immediately thought that it must be a javascript for IE only. And it was... Fortunately it's becoming more and more rare. Nowadays I have the opposite problem: some css tricks only work on Firefox. Hope IE7 fixes that...

As to the second url, it doesn't work because it was too big wherever gmellow copied from (another forum?), and it was compressed (see those ... dots in the middle).

Glad everything is ok now
And thanks for the tip! Always keep your javascript coding in a separate file... checked!
